Before we begin, a quick introduction: I’m Steph, an American writer. I believe experiencing joy cultivates optimism, inspiring us to build a brighter world. I founded Sending Smiles to create a positive community. Thank you for taking the time to read. I’m happy you’re here!
We’re less than two weeks into Spring, and life is bursting with new possibilities! Birds are chirping, and neighbors are smiling. The sun shone brightly on Mary and Austin as they said, "I do.” Twenty friends raised a toast to Katie and Brooke’s exciting cross-country move. Festival-goers “oohed” and “ahhhed” at the green St. Patrick’s Day fountain. I’ve been greeting days with meditation and exercise.
How has Spring been for you?

Gregory manipulates his wife, Paula, into believing she is going insane by subtly controlling her environment and distorting her reality.

“The accusers were painted as unfair-how could they blame these guys, who didn’t know any better? Somehow it escaped commenters-and other critics of soi-distant cancel culture-that we only know better now because people have spoken up. It’s not like people just wake up one day enlightened.”
Claire Dederer examines the complexities of admiring abusive artists, particularly focusing on her relationship with the works of problematic figures.
